If I could sing, I would want a voice like Zoe Johnston. Earnest and a little achy. You know, the kind of voice lush with emotions, unspoken thoughts, and truths. Just like her lyrics.
Wanna know what she sounds like? Then check out Zoe Johnston's My Space where you can listen to one minute excerpts from four songs. Trust me you won't regret it.
Zoe recently released her first solo album Happenstances in the UK and I've been patiently waiting for it here in the US. If you've never heard of her, check out her collaborations with artists such as Bent, Faithless, Above & Beyond, Delerium, and The Beautiful South to name a few.
Most of her older stuff is a mix of electronica and dance unlike her new album. Even with trance though her voice transcends the beats, the blips, and synthesized noise to speak to you.
O and if you want to befriend me on My Space then click on this link.
